Head Athletic Trainer – Joseph Gonzalez
Mr. Joseph Gonzalez has been a part of the Athletic Training staff since 2016, and became the head athletic trainer in 2018. Mr. Gonzalez, a graduate of the University of Central Florida, was a member of the UCF Athletic Training Staff where he worked with the UCF Football program. Prior to graduating from UCF, Mr. Gonzalez proudly served his country for eight years as a United States Marine.

A Brooklyn native, Mr. Gonzalez is an avid New York Sports Fan; He enjoys cheering on the Mets, Giants, and Knicks. When he is not working with our student-athletes, Mr. Gonzalez can be found practicing Jiu-Jitsu and enjoying time with his lovely wife of 18 years, Amarie, and their four children.

 

Athletic Trainer – Teri Charlock
Mr. Teri Alexander Charlock joined the Freedom Athletic Training Staff in 2018 after serving as a UCF Student-Intern at Freedom High School during the 2017-2018 school year. Mr. Charlock was born in Ridgewood, New Jersey, and eventually moved to Orlando where he would attend and graduate from the University of Central Florida as a licensed and certified Athletic Trainer.

Outside of his responsibilities and work with our Student-Athletes at Freedom, Teri enjoys spending time with his young son and enjoying football.

 

Athletic Trainer – Peterson Francois
Mr. Peterson Francois joined the Freedom Athletic Training staff in 2019 after serving as a member of the UCF Football Athletic Training staff for the 2017-2018 season while completing his Bachelors of Science in Athletic Training; He was a part of the UCF Knights Football program that capped off a 12-0 season with a win in the 2018 Peach Bowl. Mr. Francois is a Florida native – born and raised in Miami before moving Central Florida, and making Orlando his home. In addition to working within our Sport Medicine department, Mr. Francois teaches Anatomy & Physiology here at Freedom High School.

In his spare time, Peterson enjoys being with his family, and working with youth to help further their educational endeavors and their athletic goals. Ultimately, Peterson’s goal is to be a positive impact to our community.
